~**faux paws**~

today i feel a sense of calm, introspective, sadness. the smallest of life’s occurances are there to teach us something that we thought we already knew, but didn’t fully understand. the way i feel is making me warm, it might also be that i walked to lunch in the dc heat- but i do feel that this little emotion and sense of mature sadness is making me feel warm inside.

today is truly quite a day. its put me into a funny little cove. the combination of everything about the 1st year away from home/1st year of university being over and having a working but also calming summer at home with my small group of close friends. something funny is dawning on me about friendship, compassion and love. i think i understand it in a deep way. i understand that you can love people that you don’t even always like. you can love people for 10 trillion different reasons, some of which include the way they say your name, the memories you attach to them, the nostalgia of their smile and/or face.

i could babble for hours. yesterday i said this at a seafood restaurant: “i love words as much as i love people. they are just as unique and evoke just as many feelings.”
